About The Executive Calling

The Executive Calling exists to address what existing leadership infrastructure has not: the integration of character and competency in the actual practice of senior executive life. Across thirty years of executive coaching, senior advisory work, and direct service on the executive floor in Nigerian banking and beyond, we have observed with disquieting consistency that the leaders who flourish in their senior roles are not those who arrive most credentialed or most strategically positioned. They are those whose interior architecture has been built, often quietly, into the kind of stable, durable, weight-bearing structure that can hold what the floor will eventually place on it.

The platform's diagnostic, curriculum, library, community, and counsel are organised around this conviction. Character carries competency. Without that carriage, competency is empty, misleading, or dangerous. The Executive Calling exists to support the senior leader, in every jurisdiction, who has come to suspect that the work of executive preparation is, at root, the work of formation rather than the work of further accumulation.

Dr. Olatunji Sobodu, Ph.D., FCIB, is a leadership coach and strategy expert with over thirty years of rich and varied experience covering different layers of management across different organisations. Adept at teaching and coaching, he loves to contribute to the empowerment of people and watch them grow and succeed in life.

He is the founder and chief executive of EMET Leadership Academy, and former Chairman of the Board at Globalview Capital Limited. He teaches Interpersonal Skills at the Business School Netherlands on the Action-Learning MBA Programme, having previously taught Data and Decisions, Operations Analysis, Operations Research, and Corporate Governance for many years at the world-acclaimed Lagos Business School at Pan African University, Lagos, Nigeria.

He spent many years on the executive floor in senior Nigerian banking institutions, working directly with C-Suite officers and shouldering executive-level responsibilities. He is the author of over eighty-five books, more than fifteen of which focus specifically on formation-based leadership.

His flagship programme, Sharpen Your Ax, has equipped hundreds of Christian marketplace professionals to lead with character, mandate, and multigenerational impact.
